I finished Grammar School for Tourism and decided to continue on Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana, department for Geography and German language. I have a licence for local guide in Ljubljana since 1999 and national licence for a tourist guide since 2001. I got my first experiences while working for Tourist Office of Ljubljana from 1995 to 2007. In this time I had around 5000 guided tours in my capital, numerous for City Protocol, guests of Ljubljana mayor, for State Protocol and guests like for example President of Portugal, Prime Minister of Norway, President of Polish Courthouse, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, NATO General Smith etc., as well as many tours for journalists from Slovene and foreign newspapers, radio stations & TV like Animal Planet (Nick Baker, Weird Creatures), National Geographic, ARD, RTV SLO, etc.
I establish a magazine for travellers and I was editor and journalist for 2 years. In 1999 I also started to work for different agencies and to prepare itineraries, organize and guide tours to various destination. My first single travel outside of Europe was at age 23 to Vietnam and Thailand. Since then I have travelled to more then 25 countries outside of Europe and most of them in Europe. Since 2006 I have my own agency in Tanzania and last 3 years also in Slovenia. I speak fluently English, German and Croatian (good enough for guiding groups), quite good also Spanish (not for guiding), a little bit French.
My hobbies are travelling, photography and video, making a travel film, reading (travel literature, library of around 600 travel books, dance (salsa). I have a driving licence for a car, minivan and bus. In my free time I like cross country running, jogging, swimming, cycling, ice-skating. My biggest achievement was reaching North Pole as first Slovene woman in Polar Expedition 2000 and participating in Expedition to Greenland in 2003, in both case we walked with skies and sledge. I am still the only Slovene woman to reach North Pole. | |
